is there an exam for students of 12 std?

NTSE is for 8th standard only.
For 12th standard you need to find scholarship exams that suit you. You can easily get that exams list from your college where you are doing 12th. But these are going to be tough.

@books for NTSE exam
There are many books available in the market for NTSE exam studies. Ask you school teacher (generally science or maths teacher) for books you can refer for NTSE.
If you are a cbse board student then you may avoid big books only for NTSE exams. Your standard textbooks may also do.
It depends on you. How much time you have and how you are preparing for the exam.
Whatever you do, do properly and be through with it.
Best of Luck!

if my school is not helping me to appear for stse exam class VIII.What should i do?how can i get the form and how can i apply for this year?

Hello Seema
It is very strange that the school itself is not interested in helping students for NTSE exams.
See point 9: Application Forms may be downloaded from the NCERT website www.ncert.nic.in. All correspondences related to Application Forms should be addressed to the State Liaison Officers (LOs) whose addresses are given at the end/Website: www.ncert.nic.in (and in this post also ;p).
But the application form must have principal's sign. Your school ought to help you with this!

Best of Luck :)
