GUIDELINES AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF ON-LINE EXAMINATION FORM

1. Students are required to pay examination fee @Rs.50/- per course if the student is appearing for the first time or failed in earlier examinations for theory as well as practical. A late fee of Rs.300/- from 1st October to 20th October also needs to be included, if submitted during this period.

2. Mode of payment - Credit Card and Bank Draft . Please select mode of payment.

3. In case of payment through bank draft, please keep the bank draft particulars ready with you before you proceed further. After filling all the particulars including the bank draft details, please submit the examination form on line and note the auto generated control number. You should quote the auto generated control number, your name, enrolment number and programme on the reverse of the bank draft and send the bank draft by registered post/speed post to the Registrar, Student Evaluation Division, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068.

4. If you wish to submit on-line form and make payment through Credit Card, please note the auto generated control No. for reference. In case you wish to make payment through credit card, a transaction fee of Rs.5/- will be charged extra.

5. No Examination Fee is required to be paid for the courses, where results of Jun 2009 Term-end examination are awaited on the date of submission of examination form. Results of Jun 2009 Term-end examination are available on University website www.ignou.ac.in. Please see result status before filling examination form. Click here to see the result status of Jun 2009 Examination. However, if the student does not secure minimum pass marks in June, 2009 TEE, he/she will be required to pay examination fee for these courses for appearing in December, 2009 TEE.

6. Select and enter Programme code and Examination Centre Code from the options available. If the centre opted by the student is not activated as examination centre or not allotted for any other reason, alternative examination centre will be allotted.

7. Select courses carefully. Courses for theory as well as practical needs to be selected separately from the list appearing on the screen.

8. You will receive an acknowledgement with control number at the E-mail address given in the application form.

9. You may visit SEARCH OPTION to after 24 hours of submission of your form (leaving the day of submission except Saturday & Sunday) to see the details of particulars submitted by you. In case you find the particulars are not available, you may submit the form again.

10. University issues hall-ticket to the students two weeks before commencement of Term-end Examination and also uploads the information on the university website. If you do not receive hall-ticket one week before commencement of examination, please download the hall-ticket from the website and report to the Examination Centre with your Identity Card issued by the University.

11. Students will be allowed to appear in Term-end Examination for those courses only whose registration is valid and have completed the prescribed minimum duration of study.

  1. Designated Bank Branches corresponding to each zone on cash payment.
  2. Zonal GATE Office by sending a request letter and TWO self-addressed slips along with a Demand Draft for appropriate amount.
  3. Over the counter from Zonal GATE Office after handing over Demand Draft for appropriate amount.
Step 1: Select Payment Option:

  • Online Payment: Online Payment is possible through HDFC bank payment gateway using Mastercard or Visa credit cards or debit cards of certain banks.
  • Offline payment: Offline payment is possible through a demand draft payable at Kanpur in the name of "Chairman GATE, IIT Kanpur". Please obtain this prior to start of the online filling of the application.

Step 2: Obtain Digital Photo and Scanned Signature.

Candidates are advised to have a digital photograph and scanned signature prior to starting the filling of application and these should be uploaded when applying Online. Otherwise they have to submit it later.

Step 2: Obtain SC/ST/PD Certificate (if applicable)

SC/ST and Disability Certificate should be obtained from appropriate authority.

Step 4: Post/Submission

Duly filled-in Application Form with appropriate enclosures must be sent by Registered or Speed post to The Chairman, GATE of the Zone, where the candidate prefers (corresponding to the 1st Choice of Examination City) to appear for the examination, on or before Tuesday, November 03, 2009

It can be handed over personally to respective Zonal GATE Office.

Step 5: Post/Submission

An application which is incomplete by not uploading the necessary documents can be completed by sending those documents by post along with a covering note that can be printed on the online site. All such documents must reach the GATE office at IIT Kanpur by November 3, 2009.

New in GATE 2010 | GATE 2010 New Features

  1. New Paper introduced in GATE 2010: Biotechnology (BT) has been introduced as an independent paper from GATE 2010.
  2. Common Component of General Aptitude (GA) introduced in GATE 2010: Each GATE paper shall have a common General Aptitude (GA) component carrying 15 marks from GATE 2010.
  3. Papers to be discontinued from GATE 2010 onwards:
    • Due to introduction of an independent paper in Biotechnology (BT), the Biotechnology section in Life Sciences (XL) paper has been discontinued from GATE 2010.
    • There will not be GATE 2010 examination in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PY) paper. For more information about the organization which will be conducting a GATE like examination for PY, the candidates are advised to visit GATE 2010 website from time to time.
  4. ONLINE Examination for MN and TF paper:
    • Computer based ONLINE examination for the paper MN will be held in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mumbai, Roorkee on February 07, 2010 (Sunday) at 09.30 hrs – 12.30 hrs
    • Computer based ONLINE examination for the paper TF will be held in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mumbai, Roorkee February 07, 2010 (Sunday) 14.30 hrs – 17.30 hrs

ELIGIBILITY GATE 2010 | Gate 2010 Eligibility | Gate 2010 Eligibility Criteria

The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear in GATE :

  1. Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/Technology/Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
  2. Master degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
  3. Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.
  4. Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

GATE 2010 Entrance | GATE 2010 | GATE Exam for PG in IIT

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination administered and conducted in eight zones across the country by the GATE Committee comprising faculty from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordinating Board - GATE, Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Admission to post graduate programmes with MHRD and some other government scholarship/assistantship at engineering colleges/institutes in the country are open to those who qualify through GATE. GATE qualified candidates with Bachelor degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy or Master degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications are eligible for Master/Doctoral programmes in Engineering/ Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy as well as for Doctoral programmes in relevant branches of Science. To avail the scholarship, the candidate must additionally secure admission to such a postgraduate programme, as per the prevailing procedure of the admitting institution. GATE qualification, however, is not required for candidates with Master degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Pharmacy who may be seeking scholarship/assistantship for relevant doctoral programmes.

The overall coordination and responsibility of conducting GATE 2010 lies with Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati , designated as the Organizing Institute for GATE 2010.

Notice Regarding PG Counselling 2009, (Scheduled on 11 September 2009)

1. Fresh online application are invited for admission in various ME/M.Tech programs in RGPV affiliated institutions and UTDs of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, M.P. and M.Pharm. (UTD only)
NOTE:However in pharmacy & biotech stream no fresh application are likely to be considered as there is huge backlog of wating list in these two streams.

2. Applicants are required to prepare the DD of Rs. 500/- in favour of Registrar, RGPV, Bhopal. Details of which are required to be entered as available here online application form.

3. Last date of for filling up online form will be September 09, 2009. A candidate coming for the counseling must bring all the necessary certificates/ documents Original Marksheet of Qualifying Exam, Domicile, Cast Certificate, Income Certificate(in original along with a photocopy of each) and a separate bank draft of Rs. 9,500/- drawn in favour of Registrar RGPV and payable at Bhopal, towards the advance payment of tuition fees. No advance payment of fees is required to be made by SC, ST and OBC (excluding creamy layer) category candidates belongs to Madhya Pradesh at the time of counseling. Hence they need not bring and any bank draft. If a candidate appeared in the counseling and even if he does not select/are not allotted any college then he will be refunded only a draft of Rs. 9500/-.

4. Counseling Schedule along with the list of applicant to be entertained on particular date shall be made available on the website on September 10, 2009.

5. Institutions are required to report their consolidated list/ vacancy position in all their PG programmes run by their institutions latest by 8 September 2009; 5 PM by fax and email vksethi@rgtu.net.This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it Failing which, it will be assumed that all the seats of their institutions have been filled and no further counseling is required.

6. Candidates should clearly note that any seat allotted through any phase of counseling is purely provisional in nature. The same shall be finalized only after reconciliation with the actual seat availability after the completion of counseling. It must further be noted that it will be the responsibility of the candidate to produce/ submit original documents as demanded by the Counseling Authority/ admitting institutions, as failing to which their candidature shall automatically be treated as cancelled.

7. In case of any dispute or anomaly the decision of the competent authority for PG counseling 2009 shall be final and binding.

Procedure for obtaining XAT Bulletin from XAT Office, XLRI Jamshedpur and procedure for XAT Registration
1. Get a Demand Draft: A candidate has to make a demand draft drawn in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" for Rs. 850/- (Rupees Eight Hundred Fifty Only) payable at Jamshedpur
2. XAT Registration: The candidate has to then visit the website www.xlri.edu and click “XAT Registration”. The XAT Registration page opens up wherein the candidate has to fill-in the online XAT form. The information to be provided includes demand draft number, date of draft drawn, personal information, educational details, work experience etc.
3. Select XAT Associate Institute: The candidate has to then select the names of XAT Associate Institutes (View list of XAT Associate Institutes).
4. XAT ID and Password: After successful submission of the form, the candidate will immediately get his/her XAT ID and password (which is automatically generated by the system). XAT ID and password needs to be retained by the candidate for future correspondence with XAT Office, downloading XAT Admit card and other transactions at www.xlri.edu website.
5. Download XAT PP Form: After getting the XAT ID and password, the candidate has to download the XAT PP Form. It has space for photograph and signature.
6. Send the DD and Form: The candidate has to paste his/her recent passport size colour photograph and put his/her signature in the designated space provided on the XAT PP Form. Mention your XAT ID and your name on the reverse of the DD. The candidate has to enclose the demand draft along with the XAT PP Form and send it by registered post/speed post/courier so as to reach XAT Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001 within seven days of DD issue date.
7. Mailing Bulletin to Candidate: XAT office, XLRI Jamshedpur will send the XAT Bulletin 2010 after receiving the XAT PP Form & DD for Rs 850/-. Candidates are not required to send the detachable form given inside the bulletin.
8. Keeping a copy of XAT ID & Password: The candidate is advised to keep a copy of demand draft, printout of XAT ID and password for future correspondence with XAT Office, downloading XAT Admit Card and other transaction at www.xlri.edu website.
9. Download Admit Card: For Admit Card, the candidate has to visit our website www.xlri.edu, anytime between 18 December 2009 and 31 December 2009 and take a print out of the same where the address of the test centre will be mentioned.

Procedure for XAT Registration and obtaining XAT Bulletin from Axis Bank
A candidate has to first register for XAT at www.xlri.edu and then only he / she can obtain XAT Bulletin from select branches of Axis Bank.
1. XAT Registration: In order to register online for XAT, the candidate has to visit the website www.xlri.edu and click "XAT Registration". The XAT Registration page opens up wherein he/she has to fill-in the online XAT form. The information to be provided includes the nearest Axis Bank branch name from where he/she intends to buy the XAT Bulletin 2010, personal details, educational details, work experience etc.
2. Select XAT Associate Institute: The candidate has to then select the names of XAT Associate Institutes. (View list of XAT Associate Institutes).
3. XAT ID and Password: After successful submission of the form, the candidate will immediately get his/her XAT ID and password (which is automatically generated by the system). XAT ID and password needs to be retained by the candidate for future correspondence with XAT Office, downloading XAT Admit card and other transactions at www.xlri.edu website.
4. Download XAT Pay-in-slip: Next, the candidate has to download the XAT Pay-in-slip. The pay-in-slip will have the date of registration, name of the Axis Bank branch, XAT Pay-in-slip No, XAT ID, name of the candidate, address and phone number printed on it. The printed pay-in-slip is in three parts. You have to take all these three parts of the pay-in-slip to the Axis Bank branch.
5. Go to Axis Bank Branch: The candidate has to take this downloaded XAT Pay-in-slip to the Axis Bank branch to buy the XAT Bulletin. On tendering Rs 800.00 (cost of XAT Bulletin) along with the printed pay-in-slip, the bank will issue a XAT Bulletin 2010 and enter the XAT Bulletin number, date of purchase and Bank Tran ID and put a bank seal on each part of the pay-in-slip. The bank will retain the Bank’s copy of the pay-in-slip with them and return the rest of the pay-in-slip to the candidate.
6. Fill the Detachable Form: The candidate has to go through the XAT Bulletin thoroughly. After doing so, he/she has to fill-in the detachable form given in the XAT Bulletin. All entries are to be filled-in correctly and should be same as that filled in the online form. Candidate has to paste his/her passport size colour photograph and put his/her signature in the space provided.
7. Attach Pay-in-slip: The candidate has to then attach the XLRI’s copy of the pay-in-slip in the space provided on the form. The candidate’s copy of the pay-in-slip is to be carefully retained by the candidate for future reference, if any.
8. Send to XAT Office: The candidate has to then carefully detach the form from the XAT Bulletin and send it to XAT Office, Jamshedpur through registered post/courier/speed post in the special envelope given inside the XAT Bulletin. This form along with the pay-in-slip should reach the XAT Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur-831001 within seven days from the date of purchase of XAT Bulletin.
9. Download Admit Card: For Admit Card, the candidate has to visit our website www.xlri.edu, anytime from 18 December 2009 to 31 December 2009 and take a print out of the same where the address of the test centre will be mentioned.
