a) The candidates must have Masters Degree from an institution recognized by U.G.C.

b) The candidates other than SC/ST category who have secured atleast 55% marks (without grace) in Masters Degree or equivalent examination, are eligible for this test. SC/ST/PH/VH (PH-Physically Handicapped. VH-Visually Handicapped i.e. Blind) category candidates who have secured atleast 50% marks(without grace) in Masters Degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this test.

c) Those candidates who have secured even 54.99% marks or below (even 49.99% Marks or below for SC/ST/PH/VH candidates) in Masters Degree examination are NOT eligible for this test.

d) Candidates who have appeared OR will be appearing at the qualifying masters degree examination and whose result is still awaited OR candidates whose examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible to apply for Lectureship only after they have passed their Masters Degree examination or equivalent examination with atleast 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates) These candidates must submit their P.G. Marksheet within two years from the date of declaration of result of the SET examination.

e) Those candidates who are studying in the first year of two years course or in first two semesters of a four semesters course of Masters Degree cannot appear for this test.

f) Candidates who have completed Ph.D. and had passed Masters Degree prior to 19th September, 1991 with at least 50% marks (without grace marks as explained above) are also eligible to appear for SET examination.

g) Candidates have to appear for SET in the subject of their Post Graduation only.

h) Candidates should note that their candidature is provisional. Their candidature will be deemed final upon verification of eligibility condition with reference to the documents enclosed with their application or as may be called for.

i) There is no upper age limit.

j) The candidates who have passed M.Sc.( by Research) are not eligible to appear for the SET Exam. As per the U.G.C. Rules.

k) The SET agency will not issue any marksheet to qualified/not-qualified candidate. Also no revaluations of papers are allowed for SET Examination. The SET agency will issue certificate to qualifying candidates only.

EXEMPTION (ELIGIBILITY FOR LECTURESHIP)

(a) Exemption from SET will be as per decisions taken by the UGC and State Government from time to time.

(b) The candidates who have passed the UGC/CSIR, JRF examination prior to 1989 or have cleared the State level Eligibility Test of any state accredited by the UGC for lectureship prior to 1st June, 2002 are exempted.

Procedure for submission of Application Form :

1. Please go through all the details like Important dates, Eligibility Criteria before filling up the online Application form for Maharashtra State Eligibility Test for Lectureship (SET).

First draw the DD (The Demand Draft should be drawn in the name of "Registrar, University of Pune", payable at Pune and drawn ONLY on any Nationalized Bank) of amount of Rs. 550/-(For OPEN catrgary) & Rs. 450/- (For SC/ST/DTNT/SBC/OBC/Visually Handicapped/Physically Handicapped).
Please carry all the detail Information of your DD with you when you start filling the online form .

It is extremely important to fill the details of Demand Draft in the Application form which is compulsory for form submission.

KINDLY FOLLOW ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN BELOW :

2. Once you are ready with all the details, click on the Link Apply Online where you will be in a position to fill an Application form for Maharashtra State Eligibility Test for Lectureship (SET).

* Fill all the information carefully as per the given instructions.
* Once you fill all the details, click on the "Submit" button.
* Then you can see the preview of your filled Application form. On that preview there are two options Update Form & Print the Form.
* if you want to update any filled information you can update it by clicking on Update button. Or else if your filled information is correct then take a printout directly by clicking on Print button.
* After submitting the online form, system will show you the unique Application Number for your application, which you have note down.
* After submitting the application, you can take the printout of Filled Application form by clicking text "Click here to take the Printout".
* The printed Application form will be of three pages : first page- Application Form, Second Page- Declaration and Third Page - Cover page to be pasted on envelope for sending Application form. Check whether you have printed all the 3 mentioned pages.
* You can also take a printout later, by clicking on the Link "Print Application", and entering your Name/Application No.


4. You should send the following documents :

* The Printout of your Application form with photo at appropriate place and attested from Head Master/Principal of the College/Gazetted officer.
* Also enclose the following documents along with form.

by post in an envelope of size 36 cm x 25 cm.

5. If your form is valid (with all details, attested enclosed documents, true eligibility criteria), an On line Hall ticket will be made available to you 15 days before the examination.

6. Hall ticket will not be send to the candidates by post. You have to take a printout of the Admit Card (Hall Ticket), by clicking "Print Hall Ticket" option.

7. Paste your passport size photograph on the space provided on Printout of Admit card and get it attested from Principal of any Senior College or Govt. Gazetted Officer

8. Student has to come with this Printout of the Admit card at the time of the SET Examination.

Procedure for submission of printout of application form:

1. Arrange the Application form & the required documents enlisted.

2. Paste your passport size photograph on the space provided on the printout of Application form.

3. Write your Application Form Number, your name and address behind the Application Fee Demand Draft.

4. Sign in the space provided for the signature on the printout of the Application Form.

5. Enclose the form along with the required documents and Application Fee DD in an envelope of size 36 cm x 25 cm

6. Seal the envelope properly and paste the Cover Page containing address of the SET office (Page 3 of the Application Form).

7. Affix appropriate postage on envelope and send the envelope to the address mentioned above by post /speed post/courier so as to reach on or before last date of submission of printout of application form.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRINTING THE ONLINE ADMIT CARDS

  1. Admit Cards will be provided online to all candidates before the exam on this site only.
  2. Admit Cards will not be sent to the candidates by Post. Candidates have to download and get a printout of ADMIT CARD.
  3. Candidates are requested to enter 5 digit Application No. [e.g. for Application no. 41, please enter it as 00041]
  4. Candidate must carry admit card and also one additional photo identity such as a driving license, college/university identity card, pan card etc. to the examination center on the Day of the Examination.

The University Grants Commission (U.G.C.), while prescribing the revised pay scale for teachers in colleges and in universities, in accordance with the Fourth Pay Commission, has prescribed that the person being appointed as lecturer shall qualify for the new scales provided he/she clears, the Eligibility Test, to be conducted by the U.G.C., in addition to the minimum qualifications already prescribed. The U.G.C., accordingly conducts, the National Educational Tests (N.E.T.), for many subjects. The U.G.C. and the C.S.I.R.(Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) conduct combined tests for science subjects. The NET or the combined Tests enables the candidate to receive the Junior Research Fellowship (J.R.F.) of the U.G.C./C.S.I.R. and/or makes him/her eligible for being appointed as lecturer. In view of the fact that the number of candidates who are required to be qualified for being appointed as lecturers, under the new pay scales, is fairly large, the U.G.C. has authorised the State Governments or the State Agencies on behalf of the State Governments to conduct the State Eligibility Test(SET) for lectureship, provided, the SET is duly accredited by the U.G.C.

RESULTS STILL NOT DECLARED. The woes continue. This is really a disgrace to UGC. Why don't we leave it upto them to declare the results at their will whenever they want?

By the way, their new date is 18th Dec of THIS YEAR i.e. friday. Hardly seems believable but its their date so just letting you know.

Anyways all we can do is wait and watch. The news will be available on edunewz.com as soon as they are declared. Good luck the exam on 27 th if you have applied.

Called up UGC at 01124117095 and got the final date as 10th Dec 2009. Update is posted because they seem to be quite sure about the date of 10th December. Lets see if they keep their word this time.

NET 2009 Application, UGC NET Application forms

Option I: Apply through ‘Information Bulletin’

By hand: Candidates applying for the test may obtain the Information bulletin and application forms (inclusive of fee payable) through the branches of the Bank notified below in para 5.4 (within the prescribed dates) by paying the following fee in cash

General category: Rs. 400/-

OBC: Rs. 200/-

SC/ST/Physically or visually handicapped: Rs. 100/-

By Post: The Information bulletin and application form may also be obtained through Value Payable Post (VPP) from the Indian Bank, 3/1, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi-110008, by sending a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 400/-. Rs. 200/- or Rs. 100/- (as the case may be) drawn in favour of ‘Indian Bank, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi’ payable at New Delhi. For this purpose, the candidate should send a request to the Bank with two self-addressed slips clearly mentioning the address at which he/she desires the Information Bulletin and application form to be sent by Value Payable Post (VPP). As above mentioned Bank will entertain the request for forms through post from Tuesday, the 25th August, 2009 to Wednesday, the 16th September 2009 only, hence, candidates are advised to send well in advance so as to reach their request within the above said period. The candidate should write his/her name, Date of Birth, address, date of Examination (20.12.2009) and subject code on the back of the Demand Draft so that it can be located easily, if it gets detached accidentally from the letter of request for supply of Information Bulletin. However, before attaching the draft with letter of request, the candidates should check that it bears the code number of the issuing bank and drawee bank and also amount and signatures of issuing authority.

Option II: Apply through online application

Interested and eligible candidates may apply for this test online through a link available at CSIR, HRDG website: www.csirhrdg.res.in. In order to apply Online the candidates are required to download Bank challan performa from the above website and then deposit the requisite examination fee in any of the Indian Bank branches through out the country. The examination fee for the online application is same as mentioned above. Candidates after successfully submitting application online are required to take print out of the application form, paste his/her recent black and white photograph, put his/her signature at the required space, attach requisite certificates an send along with CSIR marked copy of fee deposited bank challan in an envelop to Sr. Controller of Examinations, Human Resource Development Group, Examination Unit, CSIR complex, library avenue, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 so as to reach on or before 29.09.2009 (06.10.2009 for remote areas). Online applications with out hard copy or bank challan receipt of incomplete in any respect will be summarily rejected. Before applying Online, candidates are advised to go through detailed notification available at CSIR, HRDG website.

Examination fee paid along with the Information bulletin or through bank challan for a particular examination will neither be adjusted for any subsequent examination nor refunded under any circumstances. Similarly, candidates should also check all the column of bank challan, online application, which are to be filled in properly to avoid cancellation of application. Please note that fee submitted any other mode like money order, demand draft, IPO etc. will be summarily rejected.

The last date for submission of application form: The application form (through bank or online), duly completed with requisite enclosures should be sent under certificate of posting (UPC) to the Sr. Controller of Examinations, examination unit, Human Resource Development Group, CSIR Complex, Opposite Institute of Hotel Management, Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 so as to reach examination unit CSIR on or before 29.09.2009.

For candidates applying from Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J&K state, Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshdweep, the application form must reach the Controller of examination CSIR on or before 06.10.2009

The candidates are advised in their own interest to apply early enough to ensure timely receipt of their applications by the Examination unit on or before the closing date.

Application form received after closing date will be summarily rejected.

CSIR UGC NET 2009, NET DECEMBER 2009, UGC NET 2009, NET 2009

The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research. The Test is conducted in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science.

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) conducts the UGC-CSIR NET for other Science subjects, namely, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Atmospheric Ocean & Planetary Sciences jointly with the UGC. The tests are conducted twice in a year generally in the months of June and December. For candidates who desire to pursue research, the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is available for five years subject to fulfillment of certain conditions. UGC has allocated a number of fellowships to the universities for the candidates who qualify the test for JRF. The JRFs are awarded to the meritorious candidates from among the candidates qualifiying for eligibility for lectureship in the NET. JRFs are available only to the candidates who opt for it in their application forms.

The test for Junior Research Fellowship is being conducted since 1984. The Government of India, through its notification dated 22nd July, 1988 entrusted the task of conducting the eligibility test for lectureship to UGC. Consequently, UGC conducted the first National Eligibility Test, common to both eligibility for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship in two parts, that is, in December 1989 and in March , 1990.
