PRESS RELEASE
Registration of Options
The revised schedule related to the allotment to Professional Degree Courses, 2007 has been approved. Accordingly all eligible candidates will have to register their options afresh through the Website at "www.cee.kerala.gov.in" from 16.08.2007 to 30.08.2007 (9am). Options registered earlier (during the period from 10.07.2007 to 22.07.2007) by the candidates will not be valid.
If candidates have remitted any amount towards fee/Caution deposit/IFRD, that will be taken in to account, when they receive allotment. If candidates have to remit a higher amount of fee than remitted earlier, they have to remit the balance amount. If the fee remitted earlier is in excess of the amount to be remitted by the candidate, the balance amount will be refunded after closing of admissions.
Trail allotments will be published on 21.08.2007 and 25.08.2007. The first allotment to various courses will be published on 01.09.2007.
More details regarding the allotment process will be notified soon.

ORDER
In view of Orders of the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala in various Writ Petitions in connection with the admission to the Professional Degree Courses for the year 2007–08 in the Private Self-financing Professional Colleges, the seat distribution pattern for 50% of the seats surrendered to Government in Private Self-financing Colleges (except for those institutions with Minority status / institutions under Muslim Educational Society) and 50% of the seats to be allotted by the Government in Govt. Sponsored Self financing Colleges /Self financing Colleges run by Universities will be as follows:
(I) General Merit - - - - - 65%
(II) Socially & Educationally Backward Communities - 25%
(a) Ezhava (EZ) - - - 9%
(b) Muslim (MU) - - - 8%
(c) Other Backward Hindu (BH) - 5%
(d) Latin Catholic other than Anglo Indian (LC) 2%
(e) Other Backward Christian (BX) - 1%
(III) Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe - - - 10%
(a) Scheduled Caste (SC) - - - 8%
(b) Scheduled Tribe (ST) - - - 2%
TOTAL 100%
2. In case of Private Self-financing institutions recognised as ‘Minority Institutions’ and institutions under Muslim Educational Society, 10% of the total seats is earmarked for allotment from among the members belonging to the Minority Community which runs the college, on the basis of merit. Allotment will be made after getting Community Certificates from the eligible candidates. In such institutions, the remaining 40% of the seats will be allotted by the Government as per the pattern of distribution mentioned in the first paragraph above.
3. The fee / caution deposit applicable to the 50% of the seats surrendered by the Private Self-financing Managements to Government is fixed as the Scholarship fee / the fee approved by the Fee Regulatory Committee and the Fee/ Caution deposit applicable to the 50% Government seats available in Government Sponsored Self- financing Colleges / Self-financing
Colleges run by Universities is fixed as fee applicable in Government Colleges. The fee applicable to 35% Management seats in Government Sponsored Self-financing Colleges / Self-financing Colleges run by Universities is fixed as the fee as fixed by the Fee Regulatory Committee.
4. The candidates getting allotment are liable to execute a bond agreeing to remit higher fee, if any, to be fixed on the basis of orders of the Hon’ble High Court or any competent authority. The Managements shall also execute a Bond in favour of the students to the effect that they will refund excess fee, if any, collected from them, on the basis of the orders of the Hon’ble High Court or any competent authority.
5. The following number of seats is reserved as "Special Reservation Seats" in Government Sponsored Self financing Engineering Colleges:-

The options registered by the candidates from 10.07.2007 to 25.07.2007 will not be considered since the allotment activities held during this period has been cancelled.
Candidates can register their options afresh in the Website "cee-Kerala.gov.in" from 10am on 16.08.2007 to 9 am on 30.08.2007.Candidates who do not register their options afresh will not be considered for allotment under any circumstances. The Information, guidance and option facilitation centres [IGOFC] and Help desks [HD] having internet facility will be functioning thorough out the state during this period for registration of options by the candidates. The details of these centers will be available in the website at ‘cee-kerala.org’.
The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will be making allotment to the various Professional courses in the following Colleges:
(*Options will not be invited against the Self financing Medical Colleges which have not received the necessary sanction from the Government of India. Such institutions may be included during the second round of allotment subject to approval from Government of India)
- 6. The existing reservation policy and fee structure in Government and Government-Aided Colleges will be continued. The seat reservation policy and fee structure applicable to other self financing institutions will be as follows:

Note: (1) In case of Private Self-financing institutions recognised as ‘Minority Institutions’ and institutions under Muslim Educational Society, 10% of the total seats is earmarked for allotment from among the candidates belonging to the Minority Community which runs the college, on the basis of merit. (2) In the case of Self-financing Engineering Colleges under Government control and in Self-financing Engineering colleges under Kerala, Mahatma Gandhi Universities, 35% of the seats under management quota also will be allotted by the CEE. The CEE will allot only 25% of the seats under management quota, in the case of SCT College of Engineering, Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram.

EAMCET - The EAMCET test is taken by a large number of engineering and medical aspirants in the state. Presently, the JNTU located in Hyderabad conducts the examination. An expert committee constituted by the Educational Department of the State Government decides how the test is conducted.
