Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the admission to First Year of Four Year Degree course in Hotel Management & Catering Technology (HMCT) for the academic year 2008-2009 in Government, Govt. Aided, University Departments and participating Un-aided Institutes
approved by AICTE in the Maharashtra State.
Eligibility criteria and other details for HMCT are as follows:
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA : The candidate must have passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent
examination in Science/Home Science/MCVC/Commerce/Arts with English as one of the
subjects and Secured minimum 50% aggregate marks ( 45% aggregate marks for backward class
candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only).
Scheme of Examination: The MAH-HM-CET-2008 test will consist of one question paper of
maximum 100 marks to test the aptitude of the candidate for Hotel Management and Catering
Technology degree course.
Date, Time and Duration for CET: The MAH-HM-CET-2008 will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008. The test will be of two hours duration from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Candidate should report to the examination centre half an hour before the examination i.e. at 2.00 PM.
J & K Migrant/OMS Candidates: J&K Migrant/OMS Candidates should send duly signed printout of Online Application Form for confirmation only at “The Principal, Maharashtra State Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology,412- C, Shivaji Nagar, Pune 411016” (Phone No: 02025676640)
along with DD/Pay order and required documents through registered
Post/Courier/Hand Delivery. The candidate should write his Application ID and “APPLICATION
FOR MAH-HM-CET 2008” so as to reach in scheduled time. Such candidates should take the
printout of Hall Ticket through their login after confirmation of their Application.

Availability of Information brochure and submission of Application Forms:-
• Information Brochure will be available for sale at the cost of Rs. 50/- in Cash at all Application
Form Receipt Centres (ARCs) listed below from 2/06/2008 to 8/06/2008 between 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The information brochure is also available on website for download and printing.
• Application From Processing Fees is required to be paid at ARC :-
Rs. 500/- For Reserved Category Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only
Rs. 700/- For All Other Candidates (MS, OMS, J&K Migrant)
• The Fee is to be paid at ARC in the form of Demand Draft/Pay Order only of any Nationalised
/Scheduled/Private Sector Commercial Bank drawn in favour of “Director of Technical
Education, Mumbai” payable at Mumbai. No other mode of payment shall be permitted.
• This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
• Candidates are required to fill the web based online application form at ARC/ Cyber Café and take printout of the “Online Application Form”.
• The candidate should sign on the printout of online filled Application Form and attach the required certificates.
• All Maharashtra State candidates should go in person to the ARC for confirmation along with
Original required documents and attested true copy for verification, two latest passport size
photographs. Applications submitted online and subsequently confirmed at ARCs will only be
considered valid for further processing.

Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for Engineering/Technology Courses for OMS students:
For the academic year 2008-09, the Competent Authority shall conduct total Four (4) rounds of Centralized
Admission. The CAP shall consist of first three (3) rounds of Centralized Allotment wherein eligible candidates
(for OMS students) will fill separate/fresh Online Option forms for respective rounds. Fourth
round of CAP shall be conducted by way of counseling only for the eligible Maharashtra State candidates.
Candidates who have filled in and confirmed the aforesaid Online Application form for Admission to
Engineering course at ARCs and who have been assigned a merit no. shall be eligible to participate in the CAP
except:
Those Candidates who have once confirmed their admission in any one of the aforesaid six Autonomous
Institutes are not eligible to participate in any of the CAP rounds-I/II/III/IV conducted by the Directorate of
Technical Education, M.S., Mumbai. Even if such candidate subsequently cancels their admission in
Autonomous institutes, they will not be considered eligible to participate in CAP Rounds I/II/III/IV.

CAP Activity for OMS Students Maharashtra
This is a notification regarding application to engineering degree courses through CAP Rounds by AIEEE score.
According to the notification if the applicant does not have his/her AIEEE report card then he is allowed to use the self attested copy of marks displayed on the internet. However, during the final verification the student will be asked to present his/her original AIEEE report card.
