NOTICE – DNB – CET (Super Specialty) JANUARY – 2009
National Board of Examinations will conduct the DNB-CET (Super Specialty) Examinations on 04.01.2009. The Bulletin of Information and Application Forms can be:
1. Downloaded from the website www.natboard.edu.in (bulletin fee of Rs. 500/- will have to be paid for downloaded forms alongwith the fee for examination) (25.10.2008 onwards).
2. Obtained on cash payment of Rs.500/- from selected branches of Indian Bank (31.10.2008 onwards)
IMPORTANT DATES
1. Last Date of submission of application form for: i) CET-Super Specialty Examination 14th November 2008 - Applications must reach the NBE office by the close of office on the cut-off date mentioned above. No concession shall be given on any ground including postal delays or delivery delays.
2. Date of CET examination Sunday, the 4 th January 2009
Time : 09.30 A.M -12.30 P.M
NOTE: i) No application will be entertained under any circumstances after the stipulated date.
ii) Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully and fill
correct information.
iii) Incomplete applications or applications not in accordance with
instructions will not be considered.
3. Dispatch of Admit Cards likely by 15th December, 2008.

EXAMINATION
CENTRALISED ENTRANCE TEST - SUPER SPECIALTY (CET- SS-NBE)
The NBE CET- Super Specialty is an entrance examination for entry to
the DNB Super Specialties. The next session of the examination shall be held on Sunday, the 4th January 2009.
It is an essential pre-requisite to qualify the NBE CET-SS and possess a valid score for admission to the DNB Super Specialty program.
Candidates successful in the NBE CET can apply for admission to the
three year super specialty program to institute accredited by National Board of Examinations as per the scheme of admission so prescribed by the Board. The applicable scheme is prescribed in this information bulletin. The list of National Board of Examinations accredited institutes where candidates can pursue DNB courses is mentioned
THE LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF COMPLETED APPLICATION FORMS HAS BEEN EXTENDED UPTO 17th NOVEMBER, 2008.
SCHEME OF DNB CET
SCHEME FOR CENTRALISED ENTRANCE TEST (CET)
(a) The question paper of CET (SS) will be structured into two parts.
Part I comprising of the MCQ (General to the Specialty) and Part II
comprising of short structured questions (specialty specific).
(b) All the Medical Group of Specialties will have the question paper
Part I common to the specialty i.e. General Medicine.
(c) All the Surgical Group of Specialties will have the question paper
Part I common to the specialty i.e. General Surgery.
(d) DNB Neonatology - the Part I will comprise of MCQs in the specialty of Pediatrics and Part II will be specialty specific paper (Neonatology) comprising of 10 short structured questions of 5 marks each.
(e) Part II of the paper shall comprise of short structured questions
(specialty specific). Example – CET (SS) question paper for
cardiology will comprise of Part I (General Medicine) and Part II
(Cardiology).
(f) There will be no negative marking.
(g) There will be an Institutional Assessment of 10 marks.
(h) Time of examinations will be 3 hours in total.
(i) Part I comprises of 100 MCQ questions of 0.5 marks i.e. Total 50
marks.
(j) Part II comprises of specialty specific paper comprising of 10 short
structured questions of 5 marks each. (Total 50 marks)
(k) The total duration of the examination (part I and II) will be 3 hours
and both the parts will be attempted by the candidates in a single
sitting only.
(l) OMR sheets will be provided for writing answers for Part I and
conventional paper book type answer sheet for Part II.
(m) Candidates are not allowed to retain question paper I or copies of
answer sheet.
(n) Question Booklet of Part I alongwith the OMR sheet and answer
sheet of part II should be handed over to invigilator.

AIPMT-2009 EXAMINATION would be Subjective Type. Pattern will change from 2010.
Recently, The Supreme Court had approved the Central Board of Secondary Education’s proposal to have objective type tests in both the preliminary and final examinations for filling the 15 per cent all India quota for admissions to medical/dental courses in 2009.

PATTERN OF AIPMT-2009 EXAMINATION
The Board is receiving a large number of queries from the candidates,
whether the AIPMT (Final)-2009 examination would be subjective type
of objective type? It is brought to the notice of all concerned that in the
year 2009 there is no change in the pattern of AIPMT (Final)
examination. Hence, the examination would be conducted in the
following way :-
- AIPMT (Preliminary) 2009 on 5th April, 2009 - OBJECTIVE TYPE
- AIPMT (Final) 2009 on 10th May, 2009 - SUBJECTIVE TYPE
