CAT Exam 2010 Notification

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) will be conducting the CAT in 2010 and CAT Advertisement appeared in leading newspapers on August 22 2010.

The Indian Institutes of Management will conduct Common Admission Test (CAT) from CAT 2010 will be held in a 20 day window, between October 27 and November 23, 2010 . CAT is conducted by IIMs as a pre-requisite for admission to various management programmes of IIMs. These programmes are

How and when to apply for CAT 2010

The CAT 2010 vouchers can be obtained from selected Axis Bank branches between Monday, 30 August - Monday, 27 September 2010 for Rs. 1400/- (Rs. 700/- for SC/ST candidates)

You don't need to buy the CAT Bulliten from any bank, but a prospective candidate can buy a scratch-voucher from the designated bank branches, and, later registers online for CAT 2010.Also See CAT 2010 Exam Date

Voucher once sold cannot be refunded under any circumstance including but not limited to loss of voucher, inability to read voucher number due to mishandling of the voucher by candidate, candidate being ineligible for taking CAT, CAT not being a pre-requisite for a programme, and rejection of candidate registration due to incomplete and/or wrong information. If the voucher is lost, voucher number is not readable due to mishandling of the voucher by candidate, and/or candidate thinks he/she has made mistake(s) in filling-out information during the online registration, then the candidate can purchase a new voucher and re-register online

CAT Eligibility

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA)categories], awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. IIMs may verify eligibility at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are provided at Selection Process of IIMs.

Prospective candidates must maintain a valid and unique email account throughout the selection process.

CAT 2010 ONLINE EXAM DATES
Test Duration and Pattern

The duration of the test is 2 hours and 30 minutes including initial 15 minute tutorial. No breaks will be given during the test. The test consists of questions that evaluate a candidate’s quantitative, verbal, and logical & data interpretation abilities. Therefore, there are a total of three sections in the test. There will be about 60 questions in the test.

At the test venue, each candidate will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and he/she will be provided with a scratch paper for calculations. After the test, candidate must leave the scratch paper at the desk. Rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the testing room.
CAT 2010 Results

CAT score: A candidate’s CAT score card will be available to the candidate at the website www.catiim.in
CAT 2010 Result will be declared on Wednesday 12 January 2011. Candidates must retain a print-out of their score card.

a) The candidates should be Indian Nationals and should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) order, 1974 as amended upto date. (As per G.O.Ms No.25 dated 19-3-2004 and G.O.Ms No 108, Higher Education Department dated 30-07-2005 and its amendment )

b) The candidates other than Indian nationals should satisfy the rules of the Universities concerned.


c) A pass (or) appearance at the final year examination of Bachelor's Degree (except BOL and BFA) of any University in Andhra Pradesh or any other university recognized as equivalent thereto.


d) The candidates seeking admission into MBA course should have passed a Bachelor's Degree Examination of not less than three years duration from any recognized University or equivalent thereof besides passing SSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects.


e) The candidates seeking admission into MCA course should have passed Bachelor's Degree Examination of not less than 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level (OR) should have passed Bachelor's Degree Examination of not less than 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects.


f) The candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for ICET exam

g) Admission into any college depends on its recognition/affiliation by the respective Statutory Bodies.

Graduates in any discipline with 50% minimum marks from any university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities are eligible. Candidates in their final year of graduation may also apply.

Having Work Experience is not a requirement for admission to the program, however candidates with work experience are welcome.

ITM uses standardized management entrance test scores as a part of its overall selection process. Candidates are not selected/disqualified on the basis of their test scores only. The test score is just one part of an overall candidate profile.

The following test scores are accepted:

• CAT (Common Admission Test)

• XAT (Xavier's Admission Test)

• GMAT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test)

• MAT ( Management Aptitude Test)

Submit an attested copy of your Test Score Card along with the application form. If you have not received your test score, give details of Test Registration Number, Test Centre Code, etc.

Note: ITM uses the CAT score for short-listing candidates called for Group Discussions/Personal Interview. IIM's have no role in selection or in conducting the program.

Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow Is conducting State Entrance Examination (SEE UPTU: 20(9) on 18th and 19th April, 2009 for admission to degree courses in engineering (B.Tech.) /Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) /Architecture (B.Arch.) / Hotel Management (BHMCT) / Fashion & Apparel Design Technology (BFAD) and Post Graduate Courses MCA / MBA of Govt. Aided and Private unaided Institutions affiliated to U.P. Technical University for the academic session 2009-10. SCHEME OF ENTRANCE EXAMINATION: The candidate opting for different courses will be required to undertake written test in following papers on the dates specified below:


VENUE OF EXAMlNATION At 25 CITIES of U.P. along with Delhi, Bhopal, Chandigarh Jaipur Roorkee & Dehradun

Eligibility Criteria:
1. For admission to first year of B. Tech/B. Pharm/BHMCT/BFAD candidate must have passed
Intermediate examlnatlon of U. P. Board or 10+2 level examination or Its equivalent from any
recognized Board University as given In Information brochure of SEE-UPTU: 2009.
2. For admission to first year of B. Arch. a candidate must have passed intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10 + 2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board /University; securing minimum 50% marks In aggregate is compulsory and optional subject as given In information brochure ofSEE·UPTU: 2009.
A candidate possessing three years Diploma in Architecture (1 0+3) recognized by Central State
Govt., is also eligible for admission to first year of B. Arch. only, provided the candidate has passed the Diploma examination securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Such candidates will have to appear in the entrance examination for first year of B. Arch. papers (paper 2 & 6) mentioned above.
3. For admission to first year of MBA candidate must have passed three years degree course from any recognized University.
4. For admission to first year of MCA. candidate must have passed three years degree course from any recognized University with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at bachelor degree level.
5. For admission to second year (lateral entry) of B. Tech. the candidate must have passed three
years Diploma In Engineering course; securing minimum 60% marks In aggregate or three years B.SC. degree with mathematics as one subject: securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate as per details provided In the brochure.
6. For admission to second year (lateral entry) of B. Pharm. ,the candidate must have passed Diploma In Pharmacy course; securing minimum 60% marks In aggregate.
7. The candidates appearing in the qualifying examinations are also eligible to appear in State Entrance Examination 2009 subject to the condition that they must fulfil the eligibility criteria at the time of counselling.
6. The details of admissions for NRI and Kashmiri migrants will be published later, in the month of May, 2009 according to the norms to be laid down by the Govt. of U.P./AICTE.
9. State Govt. has permitted 10% of total sanctioned seats available in Private Institutions to be
filled on merit by All India Level candidates subject to the eligibility conditions given In the
brochure through University counselling under the reservation policy of State Govt. of U.P.
1O.This admission test is open to the candidate who have passed the qualifying examination
from any Institution located In U.P. or whose Parents (Father or Mother) are domicile of U.P.
AND 10% seats of All India level candidates as provided in SI.No.9 above.

The Information Brochure containing OMR Application form will be available for Sale In cash from 19.01.2009 to 02.03.2009 (both days inclusive) from all Head Post Offices and Mukhya Dak Ghars (MDGs) of U.P., Delhi, Nainital and Dehradun. The Information Brochure and OMR application form can also be obtained by post from Registrar, U.P. Technical University, I.E.T. Campus, Sitapur Road, Lucknow 226021 by sending a MICR bank draft of Rs. 1050.00 for General/OBC and Rs. 550.00 for SC/ST and female candidates of all categories in favour of Finance Officer, U. P. Technical University, Lucknow along with two self addressed stickers. The request for supply of application form by post will not be entertained after 21.02.2009.
The last date of reciept of duly filled OMR Application form In the office of Registrar (SEE). U.P. Technical University, lET Campus Sitapur Road, Lucknow 226 021 will be 09.03.2009. The applications will be received in the University office by Registered/Speed Post only.The application form received after the due date and time shall not be accepted. The

What: Admission notice for 2009-10 for University of Pune's MBA in Biotechnology course.

Eligibility

Any science/medical/engineering/pharmacy graduate with 45 per cent marks (40 per cent for reserved category) from a recognised university and the candidate should have appeared for ATMA test to be conducted on February 8.

Selection process

Based on overall merit of ATMA score and GD/PI conducted by PUMBA.

Reservations

50 per cent seats are reserved for the SC/ST, DT, NT, OBC category candidates from Maharashtra State.
