Eligibility Criteria for Admission to I Semester 2008-09:
(i) For admission to all the Integrated First Degree programmes except
B.Pharm.(Hons.) and M.Sc.(Hons.) Biological Sciences: Candidates should have
passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board
or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and adequate proficiency
in English.
(ii) For admission to B.Pharm.(Hons.) and M.Sc.(Hons.): Biological Sciences
programmes: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system
from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry,
and Biology or Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English. Candidates having
both Mathematics and Biology in 10+2 have to decide whether they wish to appear in
Mathematics or Biology subjects in BITSAT-2008.
Admission to all the programmes is subject to the conditions given below.
The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry
and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of
aggregate 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in
BITSAT) subjects in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry,
and Mathematics / Biology subjects.
Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2008 or who have passed 12th
Examination in 2007 only are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2008 test. Students who have
passed 12th examination in 2006 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in BITSAT-2008. Students
who are presently studying in BITS at any of its campuses are not eligible to appear in BITSAT
test.
Admissions will be made purely on merit. The merit position of the candidate for admission will
be based on the score obtained by the candidate in the BITSAT-2008. However, their eligibility
for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in 12th examination, as
mentioned above.

BITSAT 2008 Online Tests

Admissions to Integrated first degree programmes, at Pilani campus, Goa campus and Hyderabad Campus for I Semester 2008-09 will be made through a computer based online test conducted by BITS. This test is referred to as ' BITS Admission Test', in short as BITSAT.

The advertisement for BITSAT-2008 is now released. The last date for submission of completed application is 31st January 2008.

After successfull submission of On-line Application Form, a Registration Number along with confirmation page will be generated.

Candidates are advised to take printout of confirmation page and paste his/her two recent photographs (as given in point 6 below), sign in the specified box and send this confirmation page along with Demand Draft by Registered/Speed Post (NOT BY COURIER) to " The Assistant Secretary (AIEEE Unit), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2, Institutional Area, IP Extension,Patparganj, Delhi 110 092" for further processing so as to reach latest by 10.01.2008. Application received beyond this date will not be accepted.

Photograph : Firmly affix two recent high contrast passport size preferably black & white photograph (taken on or after 1.9.2007) with gum/fevicol (not to be pinned or stapled) in the space provided for it in the Application Form one duly attested by the head of the institution where the candidate is studying/passed class XII or the Gazatted officer. The photograph must indicate clearly the name of the candidate along with the date of taking the photograph. It should be without cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed. Polaroid photos are not acceptable. The photograph of the candidate should be attested by the Principal/Head of the Institution or Gazetted Officer in such a way that part of the signature is on the photograph and remaining part of the signature is on the application form. Attestation should be done on the bottom part of the photograph so that the photograph is not defaced. Candidates not complying with these instructions or with unclear photograph are liable to be rejected. Candidates may keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of entrance examination/Counselling/Admission.

7. Candidates submitting applications online are required
  • to attach Demand Draft of required fee (In favour of “Secretary CBSE Delhi”, payable at Delhi).
  • to mention his/her Registration No., Name, and Address on the back of the Demand Draft
  • to retain a photocopy of confirmation page for future reference.
  • to retain a photocopy of the Demand Draft sent.
  • The processing of applications will begin only after receiving confirmation page and Demand Draft.
8. Date of Birth : Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1983 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PH candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1978 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate only will be taken as authentic.

Procedure for filling the Application Form

1. After reading the instructions and procedure, click at the bottom of this page " Click here to Proceed " to view the online Application Form.
2. At the end of the form, there is a "Submit Form" button. Click this button once only. It takes time for the computer to process the information. On pressing "Submit Form", the information you have provided shall be taken into our system. If any information is not provided by you, the system shall return the form to you, prompting you to fill in the same.
3. After successfull validation, an intermediate page containing all information will be shown for review. If you would like to change any information entered, you may do so by pressing 'BACK' button. After making necessary correction please press 'Submit' button for final submission.


Karnataka CET Common Entrance Test

Professional colleges in Karnataka State which offers Medical, Dental and Engineering Education are affiliated to the state run Universities, admit students through Karnataka CET every year.

There are three kinds of seats (Free seats, payment and management quota seats) available in the various colleges. The fee structure differs every year.

Only Karnataka students are allowed for CET for the academic year rest can opt for COMEDK exam this test conducted parallel to CET-Karnataka by the private Medical, Dental and Engineering College Association

Common Entrance Test (CET) is the test conducted by the state Govt. to admit students to medical, dental and engineering courses in Karnataka.

Who can Apply?

A candidate who has passed the second year Pre-University or 12th standard or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology group is eligible for Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses (40% in case of SC/ST/ Category-1 candidates.) ; provided that for Dental course, the candidate must also have secured 50% of marks in the English language. (40% in case of SC/ST/Category-1 candidates.) Further, the candidates seeking admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, should have completed the age of seventeen years as on 31st December of 2007
