The Management programmes help aspiring managers to become effective decision makers in their fields through upgradation of knowledge and managerial skills. The programme broadens the overall perspective of the students so that they can become catalysts for change. It develops conceptual, interpersonal and management awareness for implementation of new structures and strategies. It also improves managerial effectiveness and prepares managers for more senior positions.
Management education trains candidates to resolve conflicting business issues, asked to take management decisions and see the business effects of such decisions, soon thereafter. Candidates learn to win and in seeking to win they imbibe new forms of competitive behavior that are ideal for today’s highly chaotic business conditions. The competition urges students to learn willingly and enhance the pace of learning. The excitement of managing a company from top downwards ensures that the learning elements are retained with candidates longer.
Management education is specifically designed to develop the business decision-making skills of managers. Conflicting situations induce the students to take decisions under predetermined criteria. These situations closely resemble business events and are indistinguishable from real life events. For the candidates, the objective of learning is to understand complex business situations and solve problems. They learn to take operative and strategic decisions. Competition enhances their abilities not merely to survive, but also to emerge as leader, for their organisations. A major learning gain is that they learn to co-operate with each other and work in teams. Besides integrating subjects the use of simulation demonstrates the complexity of business in terms of the dynamic interactions between functions, products and markets. The pedagogy of Management education provides an opportunity to test understanding and organise knowledge in a competing environment.
In the era of Globalization, students of Management will have to develop skills of quick learning and equally quick decision making. As Managers, one will be exposed to business without physical boundaries of the nations. You will have to develop skills to work with people with diverse culture and work practices.
On the behalf of the Directorate of Technical Education, M.S., we wish you all the best and hope you will lead the “Developed India’.

CLARIFICATION
The Hon’ble Supreme Court (Bench of Hon.7 judges) has delivered a judgment on 12/08/2005 in Civil Appeal No. 5041/2005 in respect of ‘rights and entitlement’ of Government as against Private Professional Educational Institutions. This judgment expects enactment of legislation by Central Government and in its absence, by State Government in this regard. This process has been initiated. However it is not certain, as of this date, as to when such legislation will come into force, as also its provisions.
In the meanwhile, in terms of the observations of the Hon’ble Supreme Court from the aforesaid judgment, at least at this stage, it appears that State Government cannot claim any quota/seats in these colleges/institutions, and consequently cannot effect admission in these Private Management Colleges/Institutes, except to the extent agreed to with certain institutions. It is therefore made clear that on the aforesaid interpretation and advice given to the State Government, this Brochure will not apply to the admissions to be effected in the academic year 2009-2010 at the Private Management Colleges / Institutions in so far as postgraduate courses are concerned, with the above exception.
However, it is made expressly clear that if, after issuance of this Brochure, either on account of any legislation or on account of any different interpretation/opinion/advice or due to any judgment/order passed by any court of law or even otherwise, the State Government is found entitled to any seat(s) in the Private Management Colleges/Institutions and consequently entitled to effect the admission(s) to such seat(s), the rules and regulations set out in this Brochure will be made applicable to such seat(s) and admission(s). In such event, a separate intimation will be issued with appropriate details. It is also made hereby clear in no uncertain terms that the same ‘Common entrance Test’ that is proposed to be conducted in terms of this Brochure will govern such admission(s), if any.
It is hereby clarified that, Association of Management of MBA/MMS Institutes has given in writing to the State Government that, the admission to their institutes be conducted on the basis of CET that is being conducted by the Government of Maharashtra in pursuance of this brochure. The said Association has also submitted in writing that, their admissions be conducted under the CAP rounds by the State Government. Therefore, admission to these institutes (a list of which is enclosed in the brochure) will be conducted on the basis of MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2009 of the State Government and the CAP of the State Government.
